Kenosha Garage Floors coats residential and light-commercial garage floors across Kenosha and Kenosha County, Wisconsin. We grind the bare slab, repair the cracks and pitting that our winters leave behind, and lay an epoxy-style flake floor on a polyurea base sealed with a polyaspartic topcoat. It goes down in a single day and it is built for exactly what a garage here puts it through - Lake Michigan freeze-thaw, brined roads, hot tires, and the odd dropped wrench. The result is a floor that wipes clean and stays put instead of dusting, peeling, and pitting along the tire paths.
Kenosha garage floors, in brief
- The system: diamond grind, repair, polyurea base, flake broadcast, polyaspartic topcoat - not a roll-on epoxy kit.
- Why it lasts here: the topcoat seals out road salt and meltwater, which is what wrecks bare slabs through freeze-thaw.
- Timeline: one day on site, back to parking in a day or two.
- Price: every garage is different, so we quote it free and on-site - no guess-y numbers over the phone.

Why bare garage floors give out around Kenosha
Garages here take a beating most of the year. Cars pull in off salted roads like Highway 50, Sheridan Road, and Highway 31 and drip brine onto the slab all winter. That salty water soaks into bare or painted concrete, and when Lake Michigan swings the temperature back and forth across freezing - sometimes several times in a week - it freezes inside the surface and pops it apart. That is the dusting, the flaking, and the rough patches you see worst right where the tires sit.
Summers add the other half. Humid Kenosha County air and a warm slab pull moisture up from below, and a floor that was only ever painted starts lifting at the edges. A coating fixes both problems at once: the diamond grind opens the concrete so the coating grips it mechanically, and the polyaspartic seal keeps salt and water out for good. The short version of how that works lives on our garage floor coating page.
The one-day install
How a coating day goes
Diamond grind
We open the bare concrete with diamond tooling so the coating bonds into the slab instead of sitting on top. No grind, no grip.
Repair
Cracks get chased and filled, pits and spalled spots get patched and feathered flat, so the finished floor reads smooth.
Base & flake
A tough polyurea base goes down, then we broadcast the vinyl flake to full refusal for the color, grip, and texture.
Polyaspartic seal
A clear polyaspartic topcoat locks it all in, cures fast, and gives you the salt- and UV-resistant surface that lasts.

Epoxy or polyaspartic?
The honest difference
Old-school epoxy
- Yellows and chalks under UV
- Gets brittle in a cold garage
- Slow cure - days before you park
- Roll-on kits skip the grind and peel
Our polyurea + polyaspartic
- UV-stable, holds its color
- Flexes with the slab through freeze-thaw
- Cures in a day, not a week
- Salt- and chemical-resistant topcoat
We market the look people search for - "epoxy" - but install the system that survives a Wisconsin garage. The full breakdown is on our epoxy garage floor and polyaspartic garage floor pages.

Kenosha garage floor coating FAQs
Is a coated garage floor actually worth it with Kenosha winters?
For most homes here, yes. The reason a bare Kenosha slab looks tired after a few winters is salt and meltwater soaking in, then freezing and lifting the surface. A ground-in coating seals the concrete so that water and brine never get a foothold, which is exactly the problem our winters create. You get a floor that wipes clean instead of one that keeps dusting and pitting.
Is this epoxy, or something different?
It is the epoxy-flake look people picture, but it is not a bucket of epoxy. We build the floor on a polyurea base and seal it with a polyaspartic topcoat, which handles UV and road salt far better than old-style epoxy and cures fast enough to use the next day. We are straight about that because a true epoxy floor yellows and gets brittle in a cold garage, and we would rather install the thing that lasts.
How long are you in my garage?
One day for a typical Kenosha two- or three-car garage. We grind, repair, base-coat, broadcast the flake, and seal it the same day. You can usually walk on it that evening and park on it within a day or two once the topcoat has cured.
Will it hold up to road salt and lake-effect freeze-thaw?
That is the whole point of the system. Lake Michigan hands Kenosha long freeze-thaw swings and the county runs heavy brine on roads like Highway 50 and Sheridan Road, so cars drip salt onto the slab all winter. The polyaspartic topcoat is chemical- and salt-resistant and does not soak it up, so the floor stays sealed instead of slowly coming apart along the tire tracks.
Can you coat an older garage with cracks or pitting?
Usually, yes, and a lot of Kenosha garages need exactly that. Cracks get chased out and filled, spalled and pitted areas get repaired, and the whole slab gets diamond-ground before anything goes down. A floor that is structurally sound but ugly is a good candidate. We will tell you honestly at the quote if a slab is too far gone to coat well.
Which towns around Kenosha do you cover?
Kenosha proper plus the surrounding county - Pleasant Prairie, Somers, Bristol, Paddock Lake, Twin Lakes, and Salem Lakes. If you are a bit outside that ring, ask anyway when you request a quote and we will tell you straight whether we can reach you.
